Here are some frequently asked questions and what you can try on your own before calling us.

  • Why is my thermostat blank?

Try changing the batteries and check to see that the circuit breakers are not tripped.

  • Why is the line on my AC system frozen and/or why is the no airflow?

Check your air filter. If it's dirty, clean or replace it. Then turn the system off and the fan switch on, and run for one hour like this. Then turn the system back on. If it's now working, the problem was a dirty air filter. If it still does not work or the problem repeats, call for service.

  • Why does my heater blow warm air for a while and then blow cold air?

Check the air filter. If it's dirty, replace it. Your unit may be overheating due to low air flow because of a plugged filter, and then turning off.

  • Do I need to have my heating and air equipment serviced regularly?

Yes. You should have your equipment serviced twice a year, in the spring and fall. Most equipment warranties require regular service and this will prolong the life of the equipment and prevent many problems.

  • What should I set my thermostat to?

For summer, set your thermostat to 78 degrees or higher. For winter, set your thermostat to 68 degrees or lower. These are the recommended settings for efficiency.

  • Do you charge to come out and look at a unit?

Yes. We charge for a service call to pay for our time and fuel to come and look at a unit. If you have us repair the problem, the diagnostic or service call is free.
